Matthew 13: 24 – 30 talks about another angle of the Kingdom of God. 24 “… The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
False doctrine, legalism, or different forms of deception such as false prophetic words and actions can all be sown into good soil at the time of planting, that affects the harvest.
I’m learning that a significant part of Walking in the Light of the Lord (Isaiah 2:5), is learning to be discerning of things in our everyday world, through the lens of the Bible and the good news of Jesus. Be a Berean!
The Bereans were a group of people in the book of Acts (Chapter 17:11) who loved what they were hearing from the Apostle Paul and searched the Scriptures to see if what he was saying was true! They didn’t park their brain at the Jetty before they got in the boat!!
God does not want us to follow Him, or what we think to be Him, blindly, without applying our beautiful brains to what we are hearing. Go to the Bible, make sure our foundation is secure and follow Him according to the Bible, the Word of God, not according to the word or works of our fellow man…
Be a Berean. Study the Scriptures. Understand that unfortunately there will be weeds in with the wheat that is growing in the good soil. Walk in the Light of the Lord. His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
